Somethings never change

Since yesterday’s lunch had a lot of leftovers, we gave it to the next door English neighbor.

Today, after lunch, I heard my grandma telling the nanny

“Maary, shoofay 5 o’clock, go 6igeey il baab 3ind hatha neighbor o gooleelah ‘wain hatha plate malna’?!”

I swear, it was the cutest thing i ever heard her say ;*

Sleepover Abroad.

Cousins A, S and myself.

S: I need a pillow.. !

10min later she finds one.

S: it stinks!

Me: Spray perfume on it?

A: or look for a cover..?

S was searching around in the cupboard, and took a stripped looking cloth.

S: Ka!! I found one !!

Me: No.. thats my PJ’s.

Cousins A, H1 and H2.

Me: Lets go to that coffee place.. It’s not far away…

A: Is it like a 20min walk?

Me: ee.. i think so.. ako really yummy mocha latte. and free wi-fi!

A: Okay, lets tell H1 and H2.

15min walking…

H1: Are we there yet?

Me: No.. just straight down.. i think we’re half way..

A: Are you sure? Should we get a cab?

Me: No no.. I could see the McD’s sign. It’s right next to it.

15 more minutes under the sun, carrying our heavy bags and laptop (and my bag got torn and i had to get a cheap touristic one from the gift shop on the street).

A: I can’t see the McD’s sign.

Me: no no.. kahoo!! its behind the trees !! the coffee place is behind that block.. 7ada worth the walk.

15more minutes, and we passed the McD’s sign.

H1: Are we there yet? How far along is it?

Me: Umm.. i think we’re half way there…

10 more minutes…

Me: I can see it!! See that sign over there? thats the place.. After KFC.

H2: Wain? Ma ashoof shay!!

Me: Kaahoo!!!

A: I don’t see anything.

H1: Yeah, i see it.

7min later, we were dying 3al couches. Good thing ako cold drinks and free wi-fi, or else they would’ve killed me!

I forgot how fun traveling with my cousins was.

It’s like a huge sleepover.

1 iced tea, with ice please

After a long family lunch, my cousin and I stopped at out favorite coffee joint for some caffeine fix.

S: I’d like a lemon iced tea please.

Peony: and I’ll take an iced latte please.

Barista: Alright mam, its (madry cham)KD. But mam, would your like ICE in you ICED tea?

S: um.. yes.. ?

..

Me? I lost it! lool!! That was the stupidest question i have ever heard! The drink is names ICED tea. Of course she’d want ICE with it, or else she wouldn’t have ordered it!

I never knew just what it was, About this old coffee shop I love so much*

I’m not coffee’s biggest fan, but i just adore the Lite Raspberry Skimmed Latte.. mmmmm…! I could just have it at any time of the day, morning, afternoon, at night.. mmm..! it’s heaven sent!

But what i enjoy more is their espresso notes written in the napkins

But what surprised me the most was:

Yes ladies and gentlemen, our over-priced, burnt coffee place that we’ve been slaves for are into saving the world… They’re going green!

Purely’s Most Random Moment

Around 5-ish, i got a phone call from Purely Orchid.. the most random phone call in my life.. (9akaytay 3alaay!!)

Purely Orchid: Peony! Tara i’m so nice!! I slept on the extra bed and the sofa bed all summer long 7agich!!! Walla 7adi i’m nice!!

Me: Huh? Umm… Okay.. That’s nice I guess.. ?

Purely Orchid: Okay, yalla bye i;m going to nap know

Me: What? La7tha.. What even made you think of that?

Purely Orchid: Well I was trying to nap and I started thinking how I’m always in the middle when i sleep on my bed, but when I travel, i sleep on the one next to the window.. And then i remembered that the last two times I SLEPT ON THE SOFA BED FOR YOU!
